Quality Assurance
Quality is the buzzword at VIPL. Quality
control begins from the raw cotton itself, which undergoes stringent checks.
Each process is inspected at all stages to ensure that it adheres to the
prescribed standards. VIPL’s quality policy is emphasized and brought to the
notice of each and every employee. The quality policy’s ultimate motive is
timely and consistent supply of high-quality goods to all the consumers. Strict
quality standards, coupled with the constant desire for innovation and
implementation of latest technology, have resulted in consistent progress. VIPL
has successfully implemented 5'S' in the organization to achieve excellence and
perfection in all the operations: Seiri - Sort (Clearing), Seiton - Set
(Organising), Seiso - Shine (Cleaning), Seiketsu - Standard (Standardising) and
Shitsuke - Sustain (Training & Discipline).
The mill's quality assurance laboratory
is equipped with Uster HVI Spectrum, Uster AFIS Pro, and Uster Evenness Tester
UT-5. The installation of state-of-the-art technologies present precise and accurate data on the raw
material/in-process, and final product quality. VIPL's QA lab does build
quality into the product by prediction, audit measures, and continuous
monitoring operations.
The mill is increasing the business value
by always delivering quality yarns that exceed the customers' expectations.
Quality checks are performed daily at various stages by their quality assurance
executives. Any abnormality will be rectified immediately by the relevant
employee. The shop floor employees are empowered to stop the machines/processes
before proceeding further to eliminate any chance of customers getting a
defective product. Investments in sophisticated equipment sourced from
world-renowned manufacturers such as Uster,Loepfe and
Statex are an integral part of the factory's operational strategy,
primarily to meet the desired requirements.
VIPL has established in-process and final yarn quality standards,
and this is also being communicated to shop floor executives for a effective implementation and follow-up. Online and
offline testing of the process/product is being relevantly followed at each
stage. Any discrepancies/deviations are reviewed/corrected before further
moving to the next department at the mill. The results are converted into
graphical representations for the analysis, and further considered from a
quality and production perspective.
